In my quest for emotional and physical balance I have become more aware of my chakras. Our chakras are 7 energy centers in our bodies. When our chakras get blocked or unbalanced we can have emotional symptoms. There are several ways to balance your chakras, one of which is through the use of essential oils. Essential oils are as ancient and sacred as chakras, and have been used for thousands of years to clear negative energy. Check out my findings: Here is a quick bottom-up overview of our Seven Chakras, their location, & the emotional issues that we feel when our chakras are out of balance.

Ok... so which chakra do you wanna clear first? They are all pretty crucial, right?
I use Cedarwood oil to clear my root chakra. Cedarwood has an earthy, smooth fragrance which is very palatable. I either run a couple drops of Cedarwood oil at the base of my back when applying topically, or I diffuse Cedarwood oil close to my bed while I sleep.
I use Rosemary to clear my sacral chakra. Rosemary is invigorating and fresh. My sacral chakra is the center of my emotions, sexuality & creativity. When I dab Rosemary on my tummy or diffuse it while I work, as I inhale Rosemary's crisp aroma, I feel energized.
I use Lemon oil to clear my solar plexus chakra. We all know the sweet scent of lemon. For me lemon = clean. I either dab a couple drops of lemon oil on my tummy or diffuse. I manifest feelings of power & confidence as I breath in the cleansing aroma and breath out any negative feelings that have been blocking me.
I use Geranium oil to clear my heart chakra. The sweet floral fragrance of Geranium is very strong like your heart. I love this one topically because it works as a perfume. Feelings of love and joy start to flow as I imagine frustration and sadness drifting away.
I use Valor oil to clear my throat chakra. Valor is a very popular oil and is a blend of Black Spruce, Rosewood, Blue Tansy, & Frankincense. I love the way Valor smells and also often use this one as a perfume. A couple drops rubbed on my throat and I start singing John Mayer's "Say What You Need to Say". hee hee. No, but seriously, I use this daily so my throat chakra better be super strong.
I use Frankincense to clear my third eye chakra. Frankincense is a sacred oil that has biblical ties, it is earthy and reminds me of church. I don't love this one directly on my face, so I diffuse it. I focus on empowering my intuition, imagination & wisdom when diffusing. This is a good one to wear to yoga or during meditation.
I use Lavender oil to clear my crown chakra. Lavender is one of the most versatile oils out there with tons of healing properties. My home always smells like lavender. You can dab a couple drops on your scalp or in your hairbrush before you style your hair. I love lavender diffused alone or blended with another oil. The crown chakra is where we connect to source. A great form of meditation is the Tangerine Method...Try a couple drops of lavender on your scalp then do this meditation... Om.
